The big Hollywood Film I am focusing on for my case study is Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
The main production company for eclipse was Summit Entertainment - This is a extremely successful production company - And below are some of the films they have produced.
Summit Entertainment is a worldwide theatrical motion picture development, financing, production and distribution studios. The studio handles all aspects of marketing and distribution for both its own internally developed motion pictures as well as acquired films.
The creation of the new studio was established in April 2007 when Robert,G Friedman. the former vice chairman and chief operating officer of Paramount Pictures Motion Picture Group, and Patrick Wachsberger, Chief Executive Officer and President of Summit Entertainment, closed a financing deal led by Merrill Lynch, along with a consortium of investors. Under the terms of the transaction, Summit Entertainment has access to over $1 billion for development, production, acquisition, marketing and distribution of filmed entertainment across all media.
Summit Entertainment is an independent company, so for them to produce high earning block buster films such as Twilight Saga (New Moon being Summit Entertainments highest grossing film) and The Hurt Locker.
Letters to Juliet (2010)
Furry Vengeance (2010)
Remember Me (2010 - also starring Twilight star Robert Pattinson)
New Moon (2009)
Red (2010)

PRODUCTION - Budget
The twilight saga eclipse was an extremely successful movie with a budget of $68 million, grossing an estimate of $30 million in over 4000 theatres. The film grossed $68.5 million on its opening day in the United States and Canada, becoming the biggest single-day Wednesday opening. This shows the film having a huge success and still does to continue with the next film to come out in 2011.

PRODUCTION - Casting.
The twilight eclipse saga casting is:
Kristen Stewart - Bella Swan
Kristen Stewart plays a role of an 'average' typically local and homey girl so the fact that Kristen Stewart was a new face to the big screens, only having starred in local films that people may not have seen, links in with her role in the film.
Robert Pattinson - Edward Cullen
Due to the twilight saga, Robert Pattinson has become a popular well-known actor receiving other films roles in Remember Me (which was released and advertised at the same time as Eclipse to help promote him as an actor) and his most recent film Water for Elephants which is released 4th May 2011.
Taylor Lautner - Jacob Black
Taylor Lautner has had a few roles in films at a young age for example, Cheaper by the dozen and cheaper by the dozen 2. From now playing the role of Jacob Black in the twilight saga he has become well-known and has received other roles in films such as Valentines Day.
The Twilight saga became a phenomenon very quickly, picking up trademarking cliches such as Team Edward and Team Jacob, sparking a huge debate throughout Twi-hards arguing for who is better. Merchandise sellers took advantage of this new craze creating t-shirts, key rings and so many other products for Twilight fans to buy and show which team they support.

DISTRIBUTION AND MARKETING - Posters.
Posters were a massive impact on the film Eclipse. The 5th of November 2009, in America was when the 1st poster was revealed for this film.
Here on the right was what i believe to be one of the first posters launched in america. Also for the marketing of this film a poster advertising this film was attached to the previews of the DVD 'Remember Me' coincidently starring Robert Pattinson, one of the three main characters featuring in this film - this was a very good way to market as when seeing the film remember me they will believe that the eclipse feel will be just as good because of the actor Robert Pattinson.
Here was one of the main posters that was posted in the UK for the film release on all cinema leaflets.
This poster on the left was the poster that was advertised around the vue cinema in northampton - taking three very good very clear understanding of the stroy in which the audience will view, also understanding the main focus on the three characters. Also there are certain posters with the characters on there own with different poses but still capturing the feel for the film.
